Postpartum Classes

Grounded Movement postnatal classes are designed specifically for new mums, and focus on recovery post birth. We work on pelvic floor and core function, building full body strength and mobility, and incorporating mindful, creative and joyful movement. 

These classes are designed for the first 6-12 weeks postpartum. You can even start these classes the day you give birth if you are feeling keen! The focus here is on breath work, reconnecting with your pelvic floor and core muscles, and slow and gentle stretching to get reacquainted with your body after the incredible work it has done for you and your bubba.

Grounded postpartum yoga classes are an effective way to return to exercise after having your baby. These classes focus on core and pelvic floor recovery, flexibility/mobility and strength work using yoga poses and sequences to get you moving and help you feel awesome in your body (again).

Our postpartum strength classes use body weight exercises to help you rebuild your strength, whilst working with the body to heal from pregnancy and birth. These are full body, circuit based classes, with little or no equipment required. 

These classes focus on active mobility work in a circuit based or flow based style. Actively loading the joints through different ranges of motion with the goal of increasing that range. These classes feel a lot like strength training. From my experience personally and with clients, a combination of active mobility and passive stretching works beautifully for creating a more mobile and flexible body. These classes are perfect during the postpartum period to rebuild strength through the joints and get that “worked hard” feeling from your session, without putting any high impact load on the healing body. Uses little or no equipment.

Explore alternative ways to move, these classes include styles such as locomotion or animal movement, creative movement patterns and drills that look a little like dance, yoga, mobility and capoeira combined. Sleepless nights and long days looking after a little person can be so draining. These classes are designed to be fun and energising whilst getting you moving in novel ways.
